I moved to the UK at the age of ten as an asylum seeker, and remained in the limbo for over half of my life. My struggles with mental health and the sense of belonging have greatly shaped how I view the world, and fuel my motivations towards a brighter future.
Since sixth form, my barriers forced me to discover volunteering and social action - which has pushed me into a space of Non-Executive Governance to understand how society functions and how communities can take ownership of their spaces, and decision makers can share power.
I co-chair the #iWill Movement and sit on its associated Fund, am a trustee for a portfolio of charities and governor for schools, and support with the inclusion of lived experience within clinical research, and advocacy. I also have experience in systems change and organisational governance.
